Budapest - Graphisoft®, developer of ArchiCAD® the award winning Virtual BuildingTM solution, today announced that its board of directors has appointed Viktor Várkonyi as the company's new chief executive officer, effective immediately.
Dominic Gallello, who has served as CEO for the past five years, is handing over the helm to Viktor Várkonyi.
"Let me congratulate Viktor for his appointment as CEO of Graphisoft and wish him great success in his new responsibility." said Gábor Bojár, chairman of the Graphisoft board of directors. "I would also like to thank Dominic Gallello. During his five-year tenure as CEO, he successfully put Graphisoft back on a dynamic growth path and led the company through major transitions including the acquisition of Graphisoft by the German Nemetschek Group. I would like to express my greatest appreciation in particular, for the impressive development of the executive management team of Graphisoft. I believe this is what a CEO can be most proud of."
Viktor Várkonyi comes from Graphisoft's Product Group, where he was responsible for driving all product strategy and engineering activities.
"The 16 years I spent with Graphisoft provided me with the unique opportunity to witness and influence the dynamic evolution of model based design," said Viktor Várkonyi, CEO of Graphisoft. "I am convinced break-through innovations in Building Information Modeling (BIM) are still yet to come and I am extremely excited to take part in this and to lead Graphisoft in these stirring times."

He has continued to deliver breakthrough technologies, including a globally unique 3D editing environment for model-based design software in 1998.
