LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. - Sirona (Nasdaq: SIRO), a leading global manufacturer of technologically advanced, high quality dental equipment, today unveiled CEREC® AC, the world’s most advanced digital impression unit for CAD/CAM dentistry. CEREC AC is built on Sirona’s proprietary CEREC Bluecam technology and its automatic image capture system operates so quickly and efficiently that entire quadrants can be scanned in just 40 seconds. CEREC AC will replace the current acquisition unit with immediate effect.
CEREC AC sets new standards for speed of acquisition and ease of use. In addition, CEREC AC captures more detail, features easy-to-use intuitive software, and provides a uniform field of illumination for unparalleled precision. Once the CEREC AC has acquired the image, the dentist can chose to create the restoration chairside with a CEREC milling unit, or send a digital model to the laboratory for offsite production.
Jost Fischer, Chairman, President and CEO commented: “The CEREC AC represents a significant step forward for digital dentistry. Dentists can use the AC to easily and quickly create single-visit, high-quality ceramic restorations in their offices. Alternatively, using CEREC Connect, they can send their digital models to the laboratory, taking advantage of a wider range of material and treatment options. CEREC AC represents one more example of Sirona’s commitment to continuous innovation and strengthens our leadership position in the dental CAD/CAM market.”
