3Dconnexion Supports Engineers of the Future at WorldSkills London 2011

BOSTON – As part of its commitment to supporting the development of a skilled global workforce, 3Dconnexion will again sponsor the Mechanical Engineering Design CAD category at the 41st International WorldSkills competition, equipping all 20 CAD workstations with a 3Dconnexion SpacePilot PRO 3D mouse. More than 150,000 people are expected to watch 1,000 competitors – people from around the world age 25 and under – compete to be the best at their chosen skill. WorldSkills London 2011 will take place Oct. 5-8, 2011 at ExCeL, London.

Held every two years, WorldSkills is the largest international skills competition in the world and London looks set to be the largest WorldSkills event yet. An estimated 150,000 visitors will watch 1,000 competitors from over 50 nations competing in 45 vocational skill categories over four days. Teams compete to win gold, silver and bronze medals, while medallions for excellence are awarded to competitors who achieve the international standard. Participating countries hold extensive regional heats before selecting their national teams, so the competition truly represents the best of nations.
