LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, U.S.A. — In the first class of the 3rd Carlson User Conference, being held in Louisville, Ky., Randy Noland, V.P. of Business Development for Carlson Positioning and Machine Control, introduced Carlson’s all new Carlson Supervisor. It’s a small, rugged tablet PC with many Just introduced Carlson Supervisor tablet PCextras designed for real performance in the field by the construction, landfill, mining and land surveying industries.
“The new Carlson Supervisor fills a real ‘sweet spot’ for the site manager and land surveyor,” says Noland. “It’s rugged and driven by a powerful 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor. The seven-inch wide screen is the best I have seen in direct sunlight. The big screen is perfect for gloved fingers and large enough to be of use in a pickup truck, ATV, GPS pole or even in heavy equipment making the Supervisor suited for some machine control applications.”
Produced by HHCS Handheld USA Inc. for Carlson, the Carlson Supervisor features full Windows 7 functionality with a daylight readable, seven-inch touchscreen. Tough enough to work in the most challenging environments, the Carlson Supervisor has 2GB of DDR2 RAM plus a massive 64 GB SDD.
There are a wide range of options for communicating with other devices such as Bluetooth for short-New Carlson Supervisor tablet PC can be used on a polerange wireless connection to GNSS receivers for example, or 802.11 WLAN. The fully integrated 3G antenna and modem provide high-speed GSM/UMTS/EVDO data transmission. The Carlson Supervisor is also ready for Gobi™ 2000 technology, which means that you'll be able to work on your choice of wireless frequency anywhere in the world.
To collect visual information in the field, the Carlson Supervisor features a built-in two-megapixel camera with LED light. And you can extend your work capacity with an array of connectivity opportunities, including waterproof USB 2.0 and RS232 ports, plus LAN ports.
The Carlson Supervisor will be bundled with the Carlson Grade Supervisor, which is designed for site/grade/surface management and volume calculations for landfills, mining and construction. It will also be bundled with Carlson SurvPC, a full-screen version of Carlson’s popular data collection software, New Carlson Supervisor can be used in a truck.SurvCE, for land survey and GIS. The package will include the hardware, charger, pole mount and Carlson software for bundled price of $4995. Additional options are available for the Grade Supervisor bundle including Carlson’s new line of construction GNSS (GPS+GLONASS) receivers; the MC Pro GS, MC Pro 500, MC Pro Lite and MC Pro Lite duo.
