AutoCAD Architecture Advanced and Revit Architecture Intermediate updated for 2009
Mississauga, ON – RAND Worldwide, a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, announced today that its courseware division, ASCENT – Center for Technical Knowledge®, released two updated training guides for Autodesk® 2009 software: AutoCAD Architecture 2009 Advanced and Revit Architecture 2009 Intermediate.
The updated AutoCAD Architecture 2009 Advanced guide offers advanced feature training for users who have completed ASCENT's recently released AutoCAD Architecture 2009 Fundamentals course, such as architects, structural engineers, and facilities managers. AutoCAD® Architecture 2009 users learn to create development and construction documentation and design massing studies or space studies. In addition, the course provides students with greater application control by teaching them how to customize their workspace. Annotation object styles and AEC object style creation for walls, doors, windows, and curtain
walls are also covered.
The Revit Architecture 2009 Intermediate training guide builds on ASCENT's recently released Revit Architecture 2009 Fundamentals guide. The updated course features a new curriculum format, which better fits with standard architectural practices, and enables the course to be customized by instructors and students based upon specific learning needs. The course content is grouped based on the following three highly focused sections: Collaboration Tools, Design Development, and Construction Documents. The Collaboration Tools section instructs Revit® Architecture 2009 users to link, import and export drawings, and
use worksets. Curtain walls and site and structural design are covered in the advanced Design Development section, while the advanced Construction Documents section focuses on detailing, schedules, keynotes, and more advanced view setup.
"ASCENT stays current on industry standards and practices, allowing our curriculum development team to continuously incorporate them into our courseware to meet our clients' implementation and integration requirements," said Joe Oswald, Executive Vice-President, PLM Operations North America and Europe, RAND Worldwide. "Meeting the needs of our clients is paramount, and the new structure of our Revit guide allows clients to easily customize the guide for their specific use."
