Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks announces finalists of SolidWorks Skill Design Competition

New Delhi: Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp. (DS SolidWorks), a comprehensive 3D design solutions provider, today announced the finalists of its skill building contest- “SolidWorks Skills Design Competition”. The competition aimed at assessing and nurturing the ability of young engineers to devise innovative and efficient designing methods saw the highest number of participation from India with more than four hundred entries (416). Both the Indian winners Karuppusamy Selvaraj & Vijayakumar Muthu are from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu. The two finalists would compete at a global platform in the regional competition against the winners from other countries on 28th Nov 2011 in Singapore.

SolidWorks Skill design is focused at building the skills of the young engineering community to prepare them for the evolving design needs of the industry. Apart from the two India finalists, nine more finalists were picked up from Malaysia, Korea and Singapore. The participants were shortlisted post a rigorous evaluation process which judged them on their innovation, efficiency, accuracy and skill.
