The latest release of DriveWorks Pro ensures that companies that design and engineer to order can also offer their customers and distributors a fast online experience.
With DriveWorks Pro there is an easy upgrade path all the way from DriveWorksXpress, (included in every seat of SolidWorks) to the online module of DriveWorks Pro allowing users to design and configure products via the web.
Major enhancements of the new release cover:
* Speed & Performance
* Integration with SolidWorks
* Ability to integrate with other company systems
* Specification Flow
* Web experience
All 4 of the software modules available with DriveWorks Pro, have been updated.
These are, DriveWorks Administrator, DriveWorks User, DriveWorks Autopilot, and DriveWorks Live. The combination of these different modules allows companies to extend Design Automation to other members of the Engineering team AND to other departments.
The DriveWorks Administrator sets up the project—capturing parameters that can change, designing the forms (User Interface) and building the rules. Once set up, others can fill out the forms to specify custom products. Other users can be other engineers, non-technical staff, colleagues on the network or external Users who can specify new variations simply by filling out the forms via the web. The forms can be integrated within a company’s existing website. Specifications can be processed by DriveWorks Autopilot, taking care of the creation of 3D parts, assemblies, 2D drawings together with any documents (DWG, DXF, PDF, Word, Excel, XML) required automatically. Results such as quotes and E drawings can be emailed based on rules and even passed to other company systems such as Enterprise PDM
A new website has been created to coincide with the new release. It allows users to log on and experience DriveWorks Live - the online product configurator and is a great way to see the product in action.
Users that enter their details into the DriveWorks Live Configurator receive an email with quote, general arrangement drawing and other manufacturing documentation.
