Based on over seven years' activity as a neutral PLM body, the PLMIG has developed the 'Path to PLM' - a comprehensive framework of tools and information that leads from the first decision to try to understand PLM, to a fully-working implementation.
Companies in the early stages of adopting PLM face an almost random array of information sources and proprietary advice, which can be difficult to rationalise because the subject of PLM is so complex.
The Path to PLM provides a central structure to build the optimal PLM environment within an organisation, and a core set of standard principles against which external information sources and proprietary advice can be compared. It offers a choice of starting points based on a company's business drivers, and a flexible approach that makes full use of the PLMIG PLM Best Practice Library.
It is particularly valuable for SMBs, who need a straightforward and effective route to implement PLM, and to be sure that the end results will be an asset to the business. It is also useful for much larger companies where there has been an edict to "put in a PLM system" and the PLM Team wishes to avoid the pitfalls that this can entail. More information can be obtained by contacting pathtoplm@plmig.com
