SAN FRANCISCO: Univa UD, a provider of cloud management software, announced today that, in collaboration with Sun Microsystems Inc, it will demonstrate an integrated solution for cloud-enabling Oracle® E-Business Suite at Oracle OpenWorld 2009.
The solution, being demonstrated at Oracle OpenWorld 2009 in San Francisco, includes Univa’s UniCloud and Reliance products with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Enterprise Linux and Oracle VM to provide a flexible platform for powering high demand e-business web infrastructures in a virtualized environment. Univa establishes a dynamically scaled business compute platform that helps provide reduced administration, improved uptime and lower total cost of ownership for Oracle E-Business Suite customers.
“This solution couples Oracle’s award winning applications and Oracle VM with Univa’s cloud management product set,” said Jeff Doolan, Director, Virtualization and Linux Channels at Oracle. “Our customers and partners are very interested in policy-enabled management solutions that can provide enhanced flexibility to cloud-enable Oracle E-Business Suite. The Univa and Oracle VM solution fulfills the promise of application deployment and migration between on-premise, private cloud and public cloud.”
The Univa solution enables Oracle business applications to scale automatically across commodity computing components to maintain established service level objectives. With Reliance service governance end-users and Service Providers can manage users, revenue models and infrastructure in new and innovative ways and can change system behavior simply by publishing a new policy.
“This solution ushers in a new era in business computing,” said Jason Liu, Univa CEO. “Now the benefits of cloud computing are available to users of business-critical applications. The cloud-enabled Oracle solution means enterprise applications run reliably across a pool of shared internal or cloud resources, so end users can enjoy optimized performance according to established SLAs.”
Oracle E-Business Suite is a comprehensive suite of integrated, global business applications that provides the most complete available business intelligence portfolio for end users. Oracle E-Business Suite is the most adaptable global business platform with customer-focused applications including Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and more.
The flexible business appliance being demonstrated at Oracle OpenWorld this week in the Sun Microsystems Inc booth (1101 Moscone South) features Sun hardware, Zeus Technology’s ZXTM software to load balance applications and Univa’s cloud management software dynamically provisioning and managing virtual machines on Oracle Enterprise Linux. UniCloud supports local and public cloud provisioning. Creation, management and portability of Oracle E-Business Suite software across public and private clouds is automated and simplified.
