VALENCIA, CA — Solid Concepts Inc announced today that it has upgraded its’ ISO certifications for their quality management system to the ISO 9001:2008 standard for their Valencia, Poway and Austin facilities. In addition, their Austin facility is now AS9100 certified along with the existing AS9100 certification they hold for their Valencia facility.
While the ISO certification has become a familiar quality benchmark for manufacturing, the AS9100 standard is one that many may not be familiar with. AS9100 is an international aerospace quality system standard overseen by the International Aerospace Quality Group. The quality management system is based on and exceeds the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard, including 80 additional requirements and 18 amplifications to the standard including independent validation of materials and processes.
“These certifications demonstrate the company’s commitment to meet the highest quality standards” said Beckie Christie, Director of Quality for Solid Concepts Inc. “Meeting these requirements ensures customers that the company will consistently meet their quality expectations.”
While the AS9100 standard is targeted to the aerospace industry, all customers benefit from the company meeting the strict quality requirements.
