Kubotek in Partnership with Adobe Systems, Inc. Plans 3D MBD Seminars to help aerospace suppliers

MARLBOROUGH, Mass - Kubotek USA, working in partnership with Adobe Systems Incorporated, has planned two half-day seminars to help aerospace suppliers understand and prepare for 3D Model Based Definition (MBD). The seminars are planned for the Los Angeles and Seattle areas, October 21st and 22nd respectively.

Kubotek, Adobe and local aerospace suppliers already on the leading edge of the MBD revolution, will present and contrast requirements from different OEM's such as Boeing's D6-51991, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and Gulfstream. James DeLaPorte from Gulfstream will be one of the presenters, and Boeing DPD Quality Representatives will be in attendance at the meeting. The intent of the seminars are to educate suppliers with the knowledge required to begin adopting best practices in managing their data, and to detect and control change as they embrace 3D Model Based Definition.

Model based definition (MBD) is quickly becoming the preferred way for OEMs to exchange design data throughout the supply chain; designs are stored and traded as 3D CAD files only without corresponding 2D or paper drawings. Kubotek has been demonstrating leadership in MBD related work, including involvement in the LOTAR (Long Term Archival) project for practical Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) implementation, as well as through the use of its revolutionary geometry-based engineering technology in such products as the Kubotek Validation Tool and the 3D CAD Direct Modeler, KeyCreator.

Says Robert Bean, Executive Vice President of Kubotek USA, “Kubotek is looking forward to this event because we know we can help aerospace suppliers succeed with 3D MBD. We have pioneered geometry-based solutions to understand and validate 3D electronic data like no one else in this field. We want suppliers to understand all aspects of 3D MBD, including expectations, challenges and the tools available to help them be successful.”

Adds Scott Sweeney, Vice President, Kubotek USA “If you are a Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin or Gulfstream supplier, or want to be one, you need to be at this seminar to learn how to position yourself to profit from the changes in Model Based Definition.”
