Wisconsin-Based Rapid Prototyping Company Also Offers Selective Laser Sintering (SLS(r)) Services.
ROCK HILL, S.C - 3D Systems Corporation (Nasdaq:TDSC), a leading provider of 3-D Printing, Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing solutions, announced today that Midwest Prototyping, LLC, has upgraded to an iPro(tm) 9000 Center to increase its Stereolithography large-part capacity. Midwest Prototyping, located in Blue Mounds, Wis., is a recent addition to the 3D Systems' Preferred Parts Service Provider (PSP) program.
Midwest Prototyping now offers high-quality iPro(tm) SLA(r) parts up to 30 inches long built from 3D Systems' Accura(r) 60 Material, a clear plastic with the properties of polycarbonate, and Accura(r) 25 Material, a highly flexible plastic that simulates polypropylene. Midwest Prototyping also has Selective Laser Sintering (SLS(r)) capabilities and offers sintered parts to its customers made with 3D Systems' DuraForm(r) Materials, the toughest, most stable laser sintering materials in the industry.
"Increasing our SLA(r) large-part capacity by upgrading to a 3D Systems' iPro(tm) and offering SLS(r) services enables us to offer a wider technology portfolio to our customers improving the timeliness and quality they have become accustomed to," said Steve Grundahl, President of Midwest Prototyping. "We have developed a loyal customer base that has come to count on us for fully functional prototypes and are excited to take on the next challenges in cutting-edge product development."
The iPro(tm) 9000 SLA(r) Center quickly and economically produces durable plastic parts with unprecedented surface smoothness, feature resolution, edge definition and tolerances that rival the accuracy of CNC-machined plastic parts. Equipped with the new, state-of-the-art SteadyPower(tm) Imager, the iPro(tm) 9000 SLA(r) Center delivers reliable output with faster build speeds and lower part cost.
"This is the classic success story -- Steve started Midwest Prototyping in 2001 as a one-man operation with a single SLA(r) 250 System," said Abe Reichental, 3D Systems' President and Chief Executive Officer. "By continuing to invest in upgrades and new equipment, he has grown his company to be the largest Rapid Prototyping service bureau in Wisconsin with the most modern and reliable equipment. We congratulate him on his latest upgrade and expansion and are excited to add Midwest Prototyping to our list of authorized 3D Systems' Preferred Part Service Providers to continue to provide high quality parts to individuals and companies around the world."
