Versailles, Ky - The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), EON Reality and the KCTCS Interactive Digital Center are excited to announce the release of a new book entitled: Interactive 3D Application Development, Using EON Professional for Creating 3D Visualizations.
This book is the ultimate resource for people who create interactive objects, basic interactive simulations or fully developed 3D simulation applications using EON Studio or EON Professional Software. Whether new to or experienced in the use of this type of application software, the modular book design provides users with content applicable to all levels of development experience.
The book is supported with interactive training applications included on a CD to supplement activities and learning objectives covered in each module. There are 11 modules that include topics such as EON Fundamentals, Imports, Object Properties, Object Appearance, Behavior and Interactivity, Views and Interfaces, Media, Prototypes, Scripting and Dynamic Load, Advanced Nodes and Prototypes and Running Simulations. Users of this book will learn to easily and quickly manipulate the EON Professional software to develop exceptional interactive 3D simulations for use in numerous fields including business and industry, education and training, marketing, and research and development.
The book is the result of two years of development by world class content creators and users of the EON Professional software and is a collaborative effort of the KCTCS Interactive Digital Center and EON Reality. Jay Box, KCTCS Vice President of Technology Solutions states that “this book will be an outstanding educational resource for training programs and content developers and is a great example of our commitment to innovation and training.” Mats Johansson, President and CEO of EON Reality, states “I am very excited to have such an incredible resource to support end users of our software applications and to further support education and training programs.”
The conceptual authors of the book, Jamie Justice, KCTCS Director of Visualized Learning and Innovation and Marly Bergerud, President of Strategic Alliance Solutions and EON’s Vice President, Education Development, were responsible for the creation and development of the original content focus, project initiation and overall project responsibility. The authors believe that Simulation Based Learning, in addition to other 3D applications created for business and industry, has emerged and there is need for a resource, such as this book, to support content development. Jamie Justice states, “It was our goal with this project to create an innovative and effective training resource using the EON Professional software. It supports emerging training programs and content creators to expedite access to more digital learning objects and applications for Simulation Based Learning experiences at all education levels, as well as in the corporate training environment.” Further, “New approaches to engaging the learner and reaching all learning modalities must be envisioned and embraced and Simulation Based Learning, utilizing the type of technology supported by this book, is a piece of that vision. The book will be an invaluable resource to help bring about an augmented software skill set for building engaging and compelling education and training applications as needed for today’s workforce of skilled content creators,” says Marly Bergerud.
