Novosibirsk, Russia — LEDAS Ltd, an independent provider of computational components and software development services for CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM market, today announced that Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) licensed LEDAS geometric constraint solver LGS 3D to use it for design and engineering of racing cars.
LEDAS will deliver LGS 3D component to JGR for 32-bit Windows platform and JGR will embed it in a newly developing CAD application to assembly suspension parts onto the chassis. The end-user application will be deployed to about 50 users including JGR and Toyota Racing Development (TRD) employees.
Geometric constraint solver LGS 3D, developed and supported by LEDAS, is used as a parametric engine for 3D modeling, assembly design, kinematics analysis, history-free geometry editing, and other applications. LGS 3D is a cross-platform software package. It is a set of binary libraries running under all 32- and 64-bit Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, *BSD, AIX, HP-UX, Sun Solaris and other OS. Coded in C++, LGS 3D has a C-based API that allows integration into a broad range of software applications.
“We are proud to license our constraint solver software component to a world famous group of NASCAR racing team,” commented David Levin, CEO and founder, LEDAS Ltd. “LGS 3D has been used by different software development companies worldwide for several years as the base component for development of parametric bottom-up assemblies. We are happy to see our first customer among racing teams,” he added.
