Field Precision LLC today announced the release of Magnum(TM) for 3D simulations of electromagnets and permanent magnet assemblies. The program has application to magnet design, particle-beam optics, electric motors and magnetic shielding.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Magnum represents a dramatic breakthrough in cost and computational power. The complete 3D design package for Windows XP or Vista is priced at less than $5000. With regard to speed and accuracy, Magnum consistently outperforms software costing two to four times as much.
The integrated Magnum package includes a graphical solid-geometry editor, an automatic conformal mesh generator, the finite-element solution package and an interactive post-processor. A textbook-quality instruction manual and a library of worked application examples are also supplied. The program cost represents a single-time purchase price with no continuing license fees and free updates. Package features include:
-- Direct import of complex parts from SolidWorks and other 3D CAD programs.
-- Representation of self-consistent saturation effects in any soft magnetic material.
-- Interactive graphical utility Magwinder(TM) to build complex drive coils.
-- MagView(TM) postprocessor capabilities include high-quality 2D and 3D plots, interactive point and scan calculations and automatic force and energy integrals.
-- High degree of transparency with well-documented data formats.
-- Programs may be initiated from the command prompt, making it easy to create user control loops with Perl or other scripting languages.
-- Output file porting directly to the Field Precision OmniTrak(TM) and GamBet(TM) programs to find electron trajectories in vacuum or materials.
-- 32 or 64 bit solvers with dynamic memory allocation for huge meshes.
