Schott Systeme Successfully Showcase CAD/CAM at Asiamold 2008
German software developer Schott Systeme GmbH have introduced the latest version of their CAD/CAM software to the Asia moldtool market. Attending the Asiamold exhibition in Guangzhou – China, the company showcased the very latest in their 3D design and machining technologies with their ‘Pictures by PC’ software solution.
With Chinese moldmakers coming under increasing pressure to reduce costs, while at the same time having to invest in the very latest CNC technologies, cost effective design and machining was high on the list of priorities. Invited as a special guest speaker to the ‘Asiamold Design and Engineering Forum’, Schott Systeme demonstrated live how a designer’s concept can be taken from initial pencil sketches, through to 3D digital mockup, mold design, machining and product technical documentation. Keeping up with the very latest innovations in software development, the company also highlighted the need for more specialist machining capabilities such as mold engraving and 5 axis simultaneous machining.
